Treating Them Like Family

There is a particular kind of worry that settles in when the vet finds nothing wrong. The scans are clear, the bloodwork is unremarkable, and you leave the clinic with answers that should feel reassuring but somehow don't. Because your cat is still hiding under the bed. Your dog is still flinching at sounds they never used to notice. The spraying started weeks ago and hasn't stopped. You are not a worrier who sees problems where there are none. You know your animal. You have watched them every day, noticed the small shifts in how they move through the world, felt the change in them even when you couldn't name it. That knowing matters, and it deserves to be taken seriously.

Animals feel everything. Not just the obvious things like loud noises or physical discomfort, but the quieter currents that move through a household. The tension that hasn't been spoken about. The grief that's been held tightly. The anxiety that hums beneath the surface of daily life. Animals are deeply sensitive beings and they absorb the emotional energy of the people and environments around them. Sometimes what looks like a behavioural problem is actually your animal communicating something that no scan or blood test was ever designed to detect.

Patience, Comfort and Care

Withdrawn behaviour, social anxiety, indoor spraying, sudden changes in temperament, these are not signs of a difficult animal. They are often signs of an animal who is carrying something. Something that got lodged in their energy field during a stressful event, a change in the household, a loss, a period of upheaval, or even a long stretch of unspoken tension in the home. Animals don't have the words we do, so they communicate in the language available to them, through behaviour, through the body, through withdrawal.

This is where distance energy healing can offer something genuinely different. It isn't about replacing veterinary care. It sits alongside it, addressing the layer beneath the physical, the energetic, the emotional, the unseen. Energy healing works with the understanding that every living being carries a field of energy that can hold patterns, particularly from experiences that were overwhelming or unresolved. When those patterns are gently addressed, animals often begin to soften. To re-engage. To feel safe again.

Kirsten works as an animal communicator and energy practitioner, and the process is simpler than you might expect. She needs only a clear photo of your animal and a phone conversation with you. That conversation is where she listens, not just to the behaviours you describe, but to everything around them. The context of your household, recent changes, anything that shifted around the time things started. Animals don't live in isolation from us. Their wellbeing is woven through with ours, and understanding that connection is part of the work.

The session itself takes place at a distance, which means it is accessible to anyone, anywhere across Australia. You don't need to bring your animal anywhere or manage a stressful car trip to another appointment. In fact, animals often respond beautifully to distance healing because there is no physical intervention to navigate. They simply receive the energy in the comfort of their own environment, which is exactly where they need to feel safe.

What might you notice afterwards? Every animal is different. Some owners describe a gradual settling, a cat who starts sleeping in their usual spot again, a dog who seems less on edge, a reduction in the spraying that had become a daily source of stress. Others notice a shift in mood or engagement over the days that follow a session. There is no pressure to arrive at a particular outcome. The intention is always to support the animal in releasing what they no longer need to carry, and to help them feel more at ease in their own body and in their world.

Standards You Can Rely On

If you have been watching your pet struggle and wondering whether there is something more you can do, this is an invitation to explore a different kind of care. One that starts with the belief that your animal's experience is real and meaningful, that their feelings matter as much as their physical health, and that sometimes the most profound healing happens in the quietest ways.

You know your pet better than anyone. Trust that. And if your instinct is telling you that something is still off, even after the vet has given them the all clear, that instinct is worth following. Book a distance energy healing session online today and take the first step toward helping your animal feel like themselves again.

Frequently asked questions

If you have questions about the right pet care options, we can helpfully provide the answers.

  • What areas do you cover?

When it comes to one on one pet care we cover Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland region care, depending on availability. If you are looking more towards distance reiki sessions for your pet, then please get in touch no matter where you are in Australia.

  • What kinds of pets do you care for?

We are able to assist with cats, dogs and pocket pets. We're unfortunately not covered to look after reptiles or exotic animals with our current qualifications.

  • What do you offer?

We offer dog walking, enrichment, daily animal feedings and check ins, and remote reiki. We unfortunately are unable to accommodate overnight stays or offer a pet creche. Pet day care is only offered in your home environment.

  • What makes you different to other providers?

We operate under our own business name, with animal care certifications and public liability insurance. We're not a "Uber for animal care" and our attention to detail for your pets, and your home is second-to-none.

  • Why are your rates so high?

At Your Bark and Claw are your only fully insured provider that is dedicated to your animal family, we don't combine bookings with dog walks and for holiday cares we dedicate additional hours ensuring your house is as pristine as possible upon your return. We also provide vet-quality sterilised enrichment toys based on your pets current playstyle and approved treats. To cover such an extensive service requires us to charge a higher rate than others, but you get exemplary service where nothing is missed.
